A Note to Members
As an association, we’ve embarked on embracing the digital age. Our objective is to connect with our community more efficiently and responsively through our website, Facebook and Trout Lake Times.
As many know, we offered a digital pop-up store for our members to purchase celebratory 70th anniversary merchandise. I’m pleased to report that we sold over $7,000 in merchandise and raised an additional $1,000 for the lake. I’m so delighted with the community participation. Thank you for supporting us!
I am also proud to report that we launched a newly updated website. The new website is now live! Please check it out at https://tlcasd.ca/. The updated website will allow us to be more nimble, have better control over content, the look and feel, while most importantly providing notifications in real-time. I would like to congratulate Lesley Conley for her tireless effort in designing and building the website through WordPress. She has done an outstanding job! Thank you, Lesley! I would also like to thank our Board for their help in providing content and feedback to help this site go live. And thank you to Doug from Micro Solutions of Sudbury for pioneering our first website!
When we raise money for the lake, it is used to purchase necessary supplies for the lake, such as new fire pumps, steel covers for the fire pumps, safety markers, insurance, administrative costs, food and supplies for the annual picnic and other expenses as outlined in our financial report. As a board, we have also agreed we would like to further investigate purchasing water testing equipment, as Miranda, our Director of Environment, has outlined in her reporting. We sincerely appreciate the extra donations that many people send to us with their annual membership renewal. Please keep donating!!
I would also like to thank some of our generous advertisers who help out too! This year our second prize, a $700 propane BBQ was donated by Luc from Seguin Hardware & Building Supplies. We also received a $250 ECHO lithium battery-powered weed trimmer from Christopher Smart and his company Connect Equipment, based in Rockwood, ON. We are going to raffle this off at the picnic. Please come and participate!!
We’d love to see you at the picnic—and we could really use your help! Volunteers are the heart of this event, and we need a few extra hands to make the day truly special. If you’re able to lend a hand, please connect with any board member—we’d be so grateful for your support!
Finally, I would also like to say, please don’t forget to support our advertisers. Support and buy local!! Community is a beautiful thing!
